It is a well-known fact that trauma impacts our brain. The traumatized brain is not truly able to be creative, or to engage in creative play and imagination. It simply keeps us stuck; unable to imagine different outcomes, to take us on a journey that is unwritten, or even rewrite what we believe to be immutable. Trauma paralyzes our capacity to live our lives and to make meaningful connections. Trauma can erase healthy attachment. If we are focused on our very survival, how can we be aware of anything else?
If we are imaginative, and if we engage in therapies that engageour ability to imagine, we can reconceptualize the past, the future, and our inner world. Let’s get involved in self-awareness and liberation of joy and peace. These are the essence of our being, after all.
