Individual Therapy: A Specialized, Integrative Approach to Healing

As a licensed psychotherapist with advanced training in trauma-informed care, I specialize in treating a wide spectrum of trauma-related conditions, including psychological, physiological, developmental, medical, and childhood trauma. My clinical expertise is grounded in the latest neurobiological and somatic research and supported by specialized certifications in Somatic Experiencing®, Relational Bodywork, and Somatic Education. In addition, I have extensive training in working with near-death experiences, altered states of consciousness, complex medical trauma, and birth-related trauma.

I approach psychotherapy as a collaborative, attuned, and deeply individualized process. One-on-one counseling—also referred to as individual psychotherapy—is the cornerstone of mental health care. It provides a safe, confidential space to explore the inner workings of your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships. For many, it marks the beginning of a transformative journey toward greater emotional clarity, resilience, and wholeness.

What to Expect in Individual Therapy

During our initial session, we will explore your physical and emotional history, clarify your goals, and assess the most appropriate and effective treatment modalities for your needs. This may involve structured assessments and open dialogue to better understand your current challenges, patterns of behavior, and life context. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, safety, and clinical excellence—an essential foundation for working through complex trauma.

In our work together, therapy may involve a combination of:

  • Somatic Experiencing® to gently renegotiate trauma held in the body
  • Relational Bodywork and Somatic Education to restore healthy boundaries and body-mind integration
  • Processing altered states of consciousness and near-death experiences in a grounded and regulated manner
  • Specialized support for medical and surgical trauma, including post-anesthesia awareness and procedural trauma
  • Exploration and healing of early developmental and attachment trauma, often rooted in childhood experiences

In addition to my specialization in somatic and trauma-focused modalities, I am formally trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and neurofeedback. These integrative approaches allow for both bottom-up and top-down processing of trauma, enhancing emotional regulation, cognitive clarity, and nervous system resilience. I am also currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Somatic Psychology, deepening my expertise in the intersection of body based healing and psychological integration. Each therapeutic approach is thoughtfully selected and tailored to meet the unique needs, history, and goals of the individual.

Why This Approach Matters

True healing involves more than symptom relief. It requires deep engagement with the self—emotionally, cognitively, and somatically. By integrating somatic therapies with traditional psychotherapeutic models, we are better equipped to address the full complexity of trauma’s impact on the nervous system, relationships, and daily functioning.

Therapy, in this context, becomes a preventative and restorative form of healthcare—enhancing emotional regulation, supporting relational health, and helping individuals reclaim agency and vitality. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, chronic stress, or the lingering effects of unresolved trauma, our work together will be designed to meet you exactly where you are, with compassion, clinical rigor, and care.
